I can work around your school timetable or different time zones, helping you to maximise tuition time focusing on what you need as an individual student. My teaching and examining experience means I can quickly pick up on where you are in your learning and move you effortlessly to where you want to go. My intimate knowledge of the different exam boards helps me run you through key areas of past papers and the key vocab you must know.

FAQs
Can I have a trial session?
Yes. You pay after the first session, if you are happy with everything and there is no pressure to book further sessions, if you feel it's not for you. I understand that students may be new to online tuition, and it's sensible to get a feel for how things will work, before committing. It's useful for me to meet the student and get to know their strengths and challenges first too.

Do I need a lesson every week?
I have limited spaces so, after the initial session, I request payment for a block of around 6 consecutive lessons, or half a term. There can be a degree of flexibility around this. Many students take time off around holidays and I have some days set aside for extra holiday lessons for students who want them, sometimes just before exams.

What about cancellations?
Once we have organised a specific lesson time for a block, I will set those times aside and plan other lessons and areas of my life around them. I expect students to do the same. I know that, occasionally, unexpected events come up, such as parents' evenings you were only told about at the start of the week. In this case, I will do my best to rearrange the lesson if I have more than 24 hours' notice, and this is a rare occurence. From my side, if I ever have to cancel, I will offer a refund or reschedule. The last time I had to cancel was December 1st 2022, when I suddenly came down with a bug and the bookshelves and stairs looked horizontal as I lay on the sofa.
Grow Your Vision
KS3
At this level it's important to keep the magic of a new language, but I also include some robust grammatical training that will help students to move forwards or perhaps transfer their linguistic skills to another language at KS4. Guided by a student's interests and confidence, I weave in speaking work as well as reading and writing and listening practice.
GCSE/IGCSE
"I have detailed knowledge of the different GCSE and IGCSE boards, including any changes taking place next year. I can offer input and support for the Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing papers, including past papers nearer exam time. I can quickly assess any grammatical gaps, and decide which areas to prioritise for maximum effect.
A Level
Students sometimes come to me feeling frustrated at the challenges of their new course, when they achieved a high result at GCSE. I can help A Level students transition from the GCSE course, building up various skills and confidence. I can also focus specifically on a particular topic, literature, or strategies for essay writing or the speaking exam.
